Meet the Owner
Hi! I’m Vicki Amar, Owner of Amarvelous Event. I’m passionate about creating stress-free event planning experiences for my clients. My enthusiastic personality, meticulous attention to detail, and love for organization (to-do lists and spreadsheets are my best friends!) guarantee a smooth and enjoyable planning process. I’m skilled at conceptualizing and planning events that reflect your unique vision, finding you the best vendor dream team, creating detailed timelines and site plans to ensure a seamless flow, handling event logistics with precision, and leading the team to ensure your special day is nothing short of extraordinary.
I began my career in the hospitality industry as the head concierge of the Commodore Lounge at The Boca Raton (formerly The Boca Raton Resort and Club). I moved to New York City to broaden my experience with large-scale event planning and spent nearly a decade with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management, culminating my civil service as the Deputy Executive Director of Events for “The City That Never Sleeps.” In 2017, I became a Certified Wedding Planner and established Amarvelous Event to further pursue my passion of orchestrating meaningful events.
Past event highlights of my career include: The Times Square New Year's Eve Celebration, Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, NYC 4th of July Fireworks, The NFL Super Bowl, MLB All-Star Game, NBA All-Star Game, U.S. Open, America’s Cup, Formula E, NYC Marathon, Five-Boro Bike Tour, Global Citizen Concert, Governor's Ball Music Festival, Electric Zoo Music Festival, World Pride in New York City, NYC Wine and Food Festival, NYC Fashion Week, the Met Gala, several ticker tape parades, and even Pope Francis's visit to NYC.
When I’m not crafting unforgettable events, I enjoy spending time with my supportive high school sweetheart husband and two amazing children. I also love traveling (check out my award-winning travel blog!), baking, finding a good deal, and immersing myself in the magic of Disney and Harry Potter.
Certifications
I chose to pursue certification through the world's leading wedding planner certification program, The CWP Society, because they are globally recognized as the pinnacle of wedding planning excellence. Their well-rounded certification process separates them from other organizations.
When I received my Wedding & Event Planner Certification from The CWP Society, I gained so much more than an enormous amount of knowledge in planning and executing weddings. I joined a community of like-minded, well-trained, and supportive wedding planners and professionals who do not see each other as competition but as partners.
I also hold a specialized Wedding Design Consultant Certification through The CWP Society, which has deepened my understanding of event design principles and trends, allowing me to expertly guide my clients through the many decisions involved in creating a visually stunning and cohesive wedding. From selecting the perfect color palette and floral arrangements to sourcing unique décor and lighting, I’m now even better equipped to bring your vision to life and design a truly unforgettable celebration.
After becoming a Certified Wedding & Event Planner and Certified Wedding Design Consultant, I continued expanding my skills and received a Timeline Genius Certification, which means that I'm a total pro at using the Timeline Genius software to create amazing wedding weekend timelines for my couples. These designations have allowed me to elevate my reputation as an elite planner.
When it came to my attention that The CWP Society was selecting elite wedding planners to grow their upper-level team to assist in their mission to foster collaboration, continual learning, and unity across the wedding industry, I knew that this was my chance to give back to the organization and the wedding industry. It is an honor to serve as an Industry Advancement Director for The CWP Society and to contribute to the positive transformation of our industry!
